Our case at the William Morris Gallery......

Here is our latest showcase at the William Morris Gallery. We have a prized position with a case taking centre stage as soon as you enter the gallery - we couldnt have picked a better position!

Hope you like the work - I'm really proud of the outcome and am looking forward to working into them further.

This is just the beginning and over the coming year we'll be working into them as our continued experiences in the gallery deepen. So watch this space for working progress.....

With the man himself in the background.....

Close up of the works, though it looks better in real life as I didnt use flash photography in the museum.

If you can, try to see some of the other work on the trail, you can download a guide by clicking here. The Inky Cuttlefish studios is a great one to go along to with a big variety of work. We met Nick Morley who has some amazing and quirky work and also had a nosey at Carl Harris' studio, who does his amazing signature Catboy images.

E17 Art Trail 2009....

Hello,
This year we're exhibiting at the William Morris Gallery as part of the E17 Art Trail. If you're in the area pop along as its a great museum and gallery. I love the pre-raphelites so I always enjoy a quick visit. Whilst you're there pick up a guide and visit some of the other great offerings on the trail.
I also just wanted to say thanks to the gallery for giving us a great space and giving us the opportunity to display, they are a very lovely and friendly bunch down there!

Here's a sneaky preview - photos of our work to follow (when we get the chance to take them!)

E17 Designers at the Art Trail 2009

The E17 Designers are going to be at home at the Grove Cafe this year as part of the Art Trail. We're taking a break from this one but pop along as there is always lots of nice things to buy.

Project bags from the family learning at CLaSS.....

Hello, here are the final pictures of the bags that were made at the family learning at CLaSS. A big well done to everyone who took part and the great work that was created. Keep up the good work! I really enjoyed teaching with the children, I had forgotten how fun it can be. Having the parents there with the children made life a lot easier to keep them in tow compared to when I used to teach a class full of children in school! Kirsten keeps on at us to start our own family workshops so watch this space.

Final pieces from the William Morris class

Well the William Morris course is over and fun was had by all. There was a really good mix of experiences from all the girls who attended.

I always want my classes to be fun and relaxed and for people to make friends, as well as learning new embroidery techniques, and I think that was achieved!!

The room and the settings are very relaxed and the view from the window was lovely.......

We produced some lovely work and all very different. We learned about the design process so we all took inspiration from around the gallery from images to colours and created our own designs from them. We silk painted, fabric painted, appliquéd, used bondaweb to put pictures onto fabric, bonded bits and pieces to make backgrounds, felted, hand stitched and finally added the finishing touches with some beads. I can't believe we covered and achieved so much within the classes. Well done to all of you.

Sorry if you're work isnt shown, some of my photos didnt come out.
Feel free to send your own images and I'll post them on.

Thanks, Sharon.
