art van go exhibition.....

yesterday we went to art van go in Knebworth to check out their latest exhibition. We squeezed into the car with a toddler, a baby, 2 car seats and a grandad but we made it in tact and it was definitely worth it as there were some really lovely pieces. We went specifically to see Gill Leary's work which was lovely, I wish I had taken some pictures now, and there were some lovely glass bead and felt necklaces too.

I got a really cute needlecase made from recycled vintage fabrics which was made from Gill, vintagerockchick....

I also got these lovely cards, made by Jenny Sandler a textile artist and quilter....

I also picked up some block printing paints in lovely bright colours so i'm hoping to get cracking on some kids prints soon.

Fame at last....

Just a quick word of thanks to everyone who came to support us at the Wanstead Art and Craft Fair on Saturday. It was such a lovely day so it was great to see so many people wandering in and out.

So fame at last, even though I am a granny, with my work being featured on the Embroiders Guild website. For more information about the exhibition click here.

Also on there are the Marottes by my friend Jill Birleson.

'Inspired by Morris' starts this week end.....

Make sure to pop along to the start of a great new exhibition, starting this week end and running until Christmas at the William Morris gallery. 50 artists have taken inspiration from the legendary William Morris from textile artists, ceramics and even film makers. So pop along and see how the artistic legacy of Morris still lives on through modern contemporary artists today.

The exhibition has also been selected as part of the Story of London 2010

Plus my mum's piece got selected, which always makes me proud to see her work hanging in an exhibition.

Here's a reminder of her amazing work.....

Well I am back and ready to begin.....

I have some good news first my baby passed 5 A levels and is going to St Marys University in Twickenham to become a primary school teacher. She starts in a few weeks when Pope Benedict XVI is visiting at the same time, how good is that?

Here's my baby - 17 years ago!

Also before I left I entered a competition at the William Morris Gallery and when I got home there was a letter waiting for me announcing that they've accepted my piece as part of their Inspired by William Morris exhibition.

I am so pleased so if you are around please pop into William Morris gallery.

Here are a few pics with details.....

Also at long last I have finished my quilt - after just a little mishap in the in the middle of making it, accidentally loosing it and then finding it in the boot of my car underneath some material! But here it is in all its colourful glory!
